Eick Confirms Bionic Woman Is Over
Executive Producer David Eick confirmed the end of Bionic Woman in a report posted on Sci Fi Wire.
“The process was so frustrating, and the conditions under which we were making that show never really came to fruition in such a way that I felt like we could make the show well,” Eick said during the SCI FI Channel’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on March 18. “The actress [Michelle Ryan] we found was wonderful. Some of the writing was good.”
However, some things just didn’t work. ”We just didn’t ever bring it all together like we did with Battlestar. At a certain point, when it becomes that frustrating, I think you’re better off to say, ‘Let’s try again another time,’ and let it go.”
NBC still has yet to confirm Bionic Woman’s end, but Eick’s words seem as good of a confirmation as any.

Ausiello Scoop: Bionic Goes Bye-Bye
The usually-accurate Mike Ausiello at TV Guide is now saying something that has been expected for a while: Bionic Woman’s systems have shut down.
“I’m told by multiple sources that Bionic staffers were informed late last week that the troubled reboot has indeed been canceled,” Ausiello says in today’s posting.
This comes hot on the heels of another NBC relaunch, Knight Rider, airing and being much more successful, creatively and ratings-wise. Yeah, we went there and said it - Knight Rider was good fun, gosh darn it.
So with that, unless something else is announced to say otherwise, we bid you adieu. The Bionic Website will continue to exist as an archive of Bionic material for the forseeable future, and we thank you for visiting this site in its few months of activity. Like Ausiello, we wish that the show would have been relaunched with new creative people, but for the most part, the show just was a general disappointment, especially when compared to the network’s other shows like Heroes and even the classic Bionic Woman, which, although it was 70’s cheese, at least had a lead character that people could like and relate to.
You’re still invited and welcome to visit the other sites in the KryptonSite Network… there’s KryptonSite for Smallville, of course; HeroSite.net for Heroes; and TerminatorSite for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I’ve also put up a little page for the Knight Rider relaunch, but let’s see first if that goes to series.

The Strike Is Over; Bionic Woman Apparently Is, Too
The 100-day-long strike by the Writers’ Guild of America is now over with a tentative deal in place for the writers. The production teams of many shows are going back to work; though, it seems the second life of Bionic Woman may now be over.
NBC is still listing Bionic Woman as one of their shows on their website, and the DVD set is still planned, although it might end up being “The Complete Series” once all is said and done.
We’ll let you know when and if NBC definitively puts the nail in the Bionic coffin, but things are really not looking good.

Bionic Breakdown: “Bionic Woman Has Not Been Cancelled”
We just received this e-mail from someone who seems very “in the know”…
I spoke with NBC over the weekend and contrary to what is being reported on the internet, BIONIC WOMAN has NOT been cancelled. Unless something changes, they are not planning to make any decisions until after the writer’s strike. Please let the other fansites know.
So there you have it. Unless NBC announces otherwise, the fate of Bionic Woman is not yet officially decided.

Not Dead YET…
Rumors are flying fast and furious that Bionic Woman has officially been cancelled.
While it is no longer in production thanks to the writers’ strike, NBC has not announced any cancellation yet.
However, ratings have fallen at an alarming rate, and the longer this strike lasts, the longer it will be before the show can be retooled… either way, keep an eye on the Bionic Website and we’ll update you as soon as we know or hear anything.

TV Guide Reveals: Sarah Corvus Isn’t Going Anywhere
“Convention reports” that Katee Sackhoff has departed Bionic Woman have been proven false at TV Guide’s website.
“I have no plans to leave Bionic Woman, and Michelle Ryan is doing a great job. There’s not one ounce of bad blood between us,” Sackhoff told the magazine.
Sackhoff revealed that her involvement this year has been pretty limited because of her obligations to Battlestar Galactica; however, she is “contractually obligated to a six-year deal” on BW, and she’d be “happy as a clam” to stay that long. “It’s fun and it’s a physical role, and god knows that’s what I love to do,” she says.

Bionic Shutdown: The Show Has Wrapped
According to an article in the Globe and Mail, production on Bionic Woman has already wrapped as there are no scripts left to film as a result of the writers’ strike.
The article says production shut down last Friday.
The strike may also put a damper on NBC’s plans to relaunch the show in January. With ratings still in a freefall, will even a new creative team be enough to make the show better, stronger, and faster once the strike is over? Guess we’ll have to wait and see…

Bionic Improvements: Making The Show Better, Stronger, Faster…
The Nov. 12, 2007 issue of TV Guide magazine discusses the new creative people working on Bionic Woman, including temporary consultant Jason Katims and finally, new executive producer Jason Cahill (The Sopranos).
The article says that (more?) additional characters will be added, and Jaime will be given yet another love interest.
Finally, it says that the new, “improved” Bionic Woman will relaunch with a 2-part episode to air in January. NBC has not yet given up on the show, as it still takes in enough of the 18 to 49 year old demographic to be profitable for the network.
The magazine also noted an online poll that they had, where 77% of those who responded said they preferred Katee Sackhoff’s evil Sarah Corvus over Michelle Ryan. However, the mag notes that Sackhoff will not be replacing Ryan any time soon.
